Job Context
- Job Location: Cox`s Bazar
- Starting date of Job: November 2018,
- Duration of the contract: Initially for 6 months every possibility to extend for 12 months
- MISSION CONTEXT:
- GK was created in 1972 with two visions. Firstly, `the fate of the poor decides fate of the country`. Secondly, `development of the country depends on development of women`.
- JOB SUMMARY:
- Actively participates as a team member to ensure good collaboration, communication and implementation of GKs humanitarian project
- Provide curative health consultations free of charge to refugees and members of the host community in the refugee camp
- Collect and report epidemiological data on a daily basis
- Refer patients to appropriate health facility when treatment cannot be provided at the health facility
- Reports to: Clinic Manager
- Check the immunization status for all EPI targeted children and pregnant women and refer the unvaccinated children and pregnant women to a facility providing vaccinations
Job Responsibilities
- Actively participates as a team member to ensure good collaboration, communication and implementation of GKs humanitarian project
- Provide quality curative health consultations following right procedure (history taking, medical examination, lab investigations, proper diagnosis and medical prescription) free of charge to refugees and members of the host community in the refugee camp
- Collect and report epidemiological data on a daily basis
- Refer patients to appropriate health facility when treatment cannot be provided at the health facility
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Respect the Gonoshasthaya Kendra's Internal Regulations, Terms and Conditions of Engagement and procedures of all departments and agree to contribute for successful collaboration
- Represents GK vis-à-vis local communities, authorities, UN agencies and other humanitarian organizations in a professional manner, upholding GK's good standing
- Ensure that all the 6-59 months' children, pregnant/lactating women and elderly persons 60 and older have been screened for malnutrition (MUAC, weight for height, edema and other complications) and referred according to GK guidelines
- Perform daily data collection regarding epidemiological data and consultations/services provided according to the templates provided
- Carefully investigate any unusual health events or suspected serious communicable diseases provided through any source and report according to established protocol
- Manage emergency medical cases according to GK protocols and referral guidelines
- Do all medical and nutrition referals according to referral protocols.
- Check the immunization status for all EPI targeted children and pregnant women and refer the unvaccinated children and pregnant women to a facility providing vaccinations

Educational Requirements
- Diploma in Medical Assistant( MATS) with BMDC Registrations
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 year(s)

- Only females are allowed to apply
- Minimum Three (3) Years of Experience in I/NGOs within Humanitarian and Development Sectors.
- Good command in English, especially in analytical writing and speaking;
- Ability to demonstrate values, core purpose and principles of humanitarian work;
- Ability to receive and provide feedback and updates to achieve improved results;
- Ability to work under pressure with Self-awareness, cultural sensitivity, respect to diversity, flexibility and adaptability;
- Ability to make time to learn from experience and feedback, and apply the lessons to a new situation;
- Ability to document lessons learned and apply them to future projects;
- experience in writing reports, concept notes, proposals, meeting minutes, data spread sheet, presentation.
