  • Job Summary: Patient care in HCC, SDU and Satellite clinic and provide technical oversight of CHA/CMW

Job Responsibilities

  • To provide supportive skill supervision to the CSBAs/Community midwives working at the safe delivery units of UH-FWCs of LAMB working areas or SDUs.
  • To conduct regular assessment of the overall service quality of the safe delivery section of branch units in LAMB “Community Health and Development” and “UH-FWCs” in LAMB target areas (Key areas: general logistics, Partograph, BCC/information, Clean & tidiness, necessary equipment, infection control, waste disposal, drug supply and registers.
  • To ensure the protocols are being followed at the SDUs (eg. SDU protocol and infection control).
  • To keep records of feedback and to practice Beneficiary Feedback Mechanism appropriately.
  • To keep good coordination with Training Centre for update information, MIS-R for referral slips/feedback and verbal autopsy and hospital for good relationship and support.
  • To ensure patient satisfaction survey are being done in a regular basis and the results are analyzed by the SDU/UH-FWC management committees.
  • To attend Maternity Coordination workgroup meeting and inservices and any other meetings relevant to this job.
  • To provide updates to OD department in a weekly basis.
  • To attend monthly staff coordination meetings arranged by the relevant project for feedback and information dissemination.
  • To be ready to provide online support (mobile phone) and advice to the SDU service providers at any time.
  • To conduct Learning Needs Resource Assessment of the SDU service providers for further development of their knowledge/Skills/Attitudes.
  • To consult relevant project to keep budget for SDU staff’s refresher training by LAMB training centre to ensure necessary skill practice.
  • To provide support for ongoing learning of the service providers (CSBAs/Community midwives/community nurses/Ayas/FWAs/FWVs and other service providers).
  • To prepare learning centered lesson plan using 7 steps of planning format before delivering any learning session/workshop/orientation/training
  • To compile monthly monitoring report from the regular assessment for CHDP.
  • To compile half yearly and yearly report with the support of OD department for CHDP/projects.
  • To ensure that the SDU management committees are receiving supportive skill supervision to be able to take over the general monitoring responsibility of the SDU/UH-FWCs.
  • To keep herself/himself with LAMB policies relevant to the work
  • To work with OD department to update/review the SDU quality assessment format time to time
  • Any other tasks assigned by the department of relevant project (CHDP).

Job Context

    The Field Officer Health (FOH) is responsible for improving capacity of Service Providers in the community clinics to deliver basic quality health services to patients attending the clinics. The FOH will increase accountability of community, CG, CSG, MOH&FW staff at Union, Upazila and district level in relation to well-functioning of CC. In addition the FOH will assist FF (Field Facilitator) to increase knowledge on MNCH (Maternal Neonatal and Child Health) of the community people in the target area through CG, CSG and Community Volunteers. Field Officer Health (FOH) will be based at the Upazila Health Complex of Rajshahi district and will be responsible to supervise and monitor the Field Facilitator as well as the Community Clinics of the respected Upazila. He will give his assistance to POH at the union Family Welfare Centre (FWC) and at the Upazila Health Complex for the proper implementation of the project activities. FOH will spend approximately 80% time in the field.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide on the job/hands on training, orientation, coaching to the service providers to deliver basic quality health and MNCH services to patients attending the clinics.
  • Review/develop training, IEC, BCC materials and Job Aid to promote quality health services related to MNCH.
  • Organise and facilitate in-house training for the service providers to improve quality of services.
  • Assist health service providers in patient/drug management including strengthening referral system.
  • Assist Union and Upazila level health and Family Planning officials for supervision and monitoring of the Community Clinics.
  • Conduct, arrange and participate in the Upazila level monthly core team meeting to strengthen the monitoring and supervision mechanism by the govt. officials.
  • Assist FF, SACMO, FWV, CHCP, HA and FWA to form/reform Community Group according to the guideline.
  • Assist FF, HSP to organize monthly/bi-monthly meeting of the CG, CSG and UH&FWC management Committee.
  • Motivate concern Union and Upazila Health and Family Planning Officials to attend CG, CSG and UH&FWC management Committee meeting.
  • Organize and facilitate training for the CG, CSG and UH&FWC management committee following government guidelines on MNCH and antibiotic.

  • Assist POH and TO to prepare IEC/BCC material, training manuals, poster, and leaflets.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate training, workshop, meeting and orientation to CG, CSG, UH&FWC management committee and health service providers to improve skills/knowledge.

  • Assist Medical Doctor in conducting health examination including history taking, measurement, treatment, medicine management and dispensing, immunization and collating medical reports and also in performing medical procedure and referral including but not limited to other patient follow up and specimen collection when required.
  • Maintain daily checklist of all medical and delivery equipment and medicines to ensure that all medical kits are ready and fully stocked, with all medical supplies organized, listed, and within the expiration period
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Documents patient care services by updating patient register and other records regularly. Also assist Medical Doctor in preparing the daily report for further submission.
  • Ensure regular inventory and consumption tracking of medical drugs and supplies.
  • Submit daily reports to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Any other duties related to the job description upon request.

Job Context
  • The Reproductive Health MA will support the implementation of the IRC`s SRH programs in 2 Integrated Women Center in the Rohingya Refugee Camp. The MA will ensure the delivery of high quality sexual and reproductive healthcare services in 5 facilities through the monitoring and mentor ship of midwives located in the IWC. She will be responsible for programmatic, operational, financial, and staffing aspects for the health team, as well as representation with key actors in the field including the Ministry of Health, UN agencies and other NGOs. They will report to the Senior Reproductive Health Manager and will directly supervisor Midwives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Mentor midwives in the IWC on the following areas of RH:
  • Counselling and provision of Family Planning
  • Clinical Care for Sexual Assault Survivors
  • Syndromic treatment of STIs
  • Menstrual regulation
  • Provision of basic first aid for intimate partner violence.
  • Prepare program work plans in coordination with the Senior Reproductive Health Manager.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to the various project sites, ensuring that projects utilize standardized protocols, policies and guidelines, as outlined by the Ministry of Health and WHO. Identify technical quality and/or other implementation issues, and provide solutions and follow-up to ensure projects are on track to meet goals and are consistent with established best practices.
  • Ensure that the health program is implemented in line with the IRC principles: promoting and protecting rights, participation, capacity building, partnership and holistic programming.
  • Work closely with other IRC programs present in the same location, such as Women's Protection and Empowerment, Integrated Community Case Management, and integrate program components to the extent possible.
  • Staff Supervision & Development:
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and provide guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
  • Provide nursing/medical support and mentorship to other staff, providing on-the-job training where needed.
  • Project Management :
  • Implement outreach activities with the rest of the team to access "hard to reach? and vulnerable beneficiaries to increase service utilization.
  • When available work with and support community volunteers to provide health promotion, community mobilization and awareness raising.
  • Ensure regular inventory and consumption tracking of medical drugs and supplies.
  • Work with relevant staff to ensure prompt requesting of medical drugs and supplies.
  • Coordination & Representation:
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local communities, local government agencies and other implementing partners.
  • Monitoring & Reporting:
  • Ensure all patient consultations are documented and patient records completed.
  • Other Duties :
  • Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of the team; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to IRC management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs.

Educational Requirements
  • certificate or Qualified Paramedic with Paramedic diploma/certificate.
Experience Requirements

Additional Requirements
  • Age at least 24 years
  • Both males and females are allowed to apply
  • At least 2 years clinical Paramedic experience in emergency and primary healthcare.
  • Previous experience and training in sexual gender-based violence and clinical care for sexual assault survivors (desirable)
  • Registered with local Nursing/Paramedic Council.
  • Ability to lead, train, supervise and facilitate other medical staff and community health workers in their respective tasks.
  • Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment.
  • Skills to provide sensitive and appropriate medical counselling.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment, displaying patience, compassion and diplomacy.
  • Ability to be innovative, flexible, adaptive, and willingness to work in challenging situations.
  • Ability to live in challenging conditions and ability to work under difficult, high pressure situations.
