Job Context:
  • Currently, Concern is looking for suitable candidates for the position under the Emergency Nutrition Project for the Rohingya Refugees in Ukhiya, Cox`s Bazar.
  • The BSFP/ TSFP Paramedic will be responsible for overseeing all medical checks to moderately malnourished children and pregnant and lactating women (PLWs) within the blanket supplementary feeding programmes (BSFP) and therapeutic supplementary feeding programmes (TSFP) in Cox Bazaar. S/He will identify at risk children and provide appropriate treatment and referral. S/ He will also be expected to provide counselling and nutritional education to caregivers to ensure children receive proper treatment for moderate malnutrition and that they do not deteriorate into severe malnutrition.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure correct anthropometric measures of children under the age of five and PLWs within TSFP/ BSFP services.
  • Provide caregiver consultations to assess children's overall health and nutrition status, referring children for additional health and nutrition services if appropriate
  • Provide moderately malnourished children & PLWs with antibiotics, deworming tablets and micronutrient supplements if needed
  • Provide follow up to at-risk beneficiaries
  • Identify and refer, if needed, PLW beneficiaries within BSFP/ TSFP services for ANC, PNC, Delivery, EPI and psychosocial support
  • Identify and refer women and children within BSFP/ TSFP services for IYCF counselling
  • Identify and refer adolescents for nutrition counselling
  • Ensure that services are delivered with maximum efficiency and professionalism and that beneficiaries are treated with respect at all times
  • Support effective coordination, particularly ensuring strong linkages with OTP & IYCF activities
  • Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards in the BSFP/ TSFP.
  • Enable a friendly collaborative working culture within the team, actively sharing information and knowledge to enable the team to ensure effective learning and sharing across the team
  • Participate in monthly and weekly report compilation and support the capturing of best practices
  • Be aware of, understand and comply with all of Concern's policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management etc.)
  • Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Country Director or the line manager.

Employment Status: Full-time.

Educational Requirements: Diploma in Paramedic.

Experience Requirements: At least 2 year(s).

Additional Requirements:
  • Two (02) years' experience in implementing nutrition programmes
  • Technical knowledge on community based nutrition interventions, particularly BSFP and TSFP programming
  • Have good knowledge on Rohingya refugee programmes
  • Demonstrate ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines
  • Fluency in English, if possible, as well as Bangla.
  • Proficient knowledge of standard computer software if possible.

Salary: As per Organisational Policy.
