Job Context

• The Medical Assistant will consult, monitor, analyze and evaluate the community health clinic activity. This involves effectively managing and consulting patient and reporting in line with the project objective, timeframe and budget with a focus on health system strengthening, training and coordination.
• Other important aspects of the role include managing clinical service delivery and training clinical staff especially on tele-medicine use to meet international quality standards in health service delivery, encouraging beneficiary participation and liaising with other stakeholders.

  Job Responsibilities

  • CLINICAL CONSULTATION
  • Provide clinical consultation and counseling to attending patients.
  • Obtain and enter accurate demographic information in to electronic medical record system.
  • Understanding of when to escalate call/s to concern specialist doctor/s along with referral.
  • Willingness to learn and use tele-medicine device like Health cube, mobile app, Kiosk etc.
  • Should have strong clinical knowledge to cater health care service in a rural PHC setting.
  • Undertake and advice relevant investigation using health cube and or ensure by lab tech. along with comparison of values.
  • Work in compliance with all medical policies.
  • STAFF MANAGEMENT
  • Attend regular meetings to assist information and service delivery protocol sharing between project staff
  • Provide coaching/ technical supervision to relevant staff in order to develop ownership and full responsibility
  • Assess the training needs of health staff and ensure that appropriate training is conducted.
  • FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
  • Manage the health care service delivery budget for the assigned project and ensure all expenses are according to budget.
  • COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION
  • Actively participate in project coordination meetings and other working group meetings, representing and feeding back to the staff and line manager on relevant issues.
  • Observe various days/events in line with govt.
  • Tech savvy and perform pharmacy related job along with drug disbursement.
  • LOGISTICS
  • Support the logistics activities particularly in relation to the purchasing of medicines, lab reagent, supplies and equipment for the assigned health activities. Collect and compile timely requisition of medicine and reagent to avoid stock out.
  • OTHER MANAGEMENT
  • Work with Health Project Manager and software development team to guide them in relevant healthcare context
  • Set clear objectives and indicators for healthcare activities
  • Meet the project objectives within budget and report promptly any operational concerns to line manager
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities/E-Health/HMIS.
  • Ensure Quality of Care and Rational use of drug.
